- Develop detailed mechanical designs, 3D models, and 2D drawings for components and assemblies using CAD software.
- Collaborate with customers, design engineers, and production teams to translate design concepts into manufacturable products.
- Create and maintain documentation including BOMs, process flow charts, and work instructions.
- Support prototyping, testing, and validation of new designs.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues related to tooling, fixtures, and assembly processes.
- Assist in developing tooling, jigs, and fixtures necessary for production.
- Perform reverse engineering of existing components and assemblies to recreate technical drawings, specifications, and manufacturing processes.
- Work closely with quality and production teams to address non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, materials, and technologies relevant to machining and manufacturing.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in CAD software (Autodesk Inventor).
- Experience in mechanical design and manufacturing process development, preferably in machining or fabrication environments.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, materials, tolerances, GD&T, and quality standards.
- Knowledge of manufacturing workflows, tooling design, and process optimization.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and document control.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality standards is advantageous.
- Experience in the underground coal mining industry is a plus.
- Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple projects.
- Primarily office-based with frequent visits to the production floor.
- Occasional travel to mine sites to gather project information and perform on-site measurements or assessments.
