- Develop and manage the master production schedule to meet project deadlines and optimize shop throughput.
- Coordinate with production leads and project managers to allocate resources effectively and identify schedule risks.
- Adjust and re-sequence production schedules in response to evolving business priorities and fabrication constraints.
- Monitor work-in-progress and update schedules accordingly to reflect real-time shop floor status.
- Analyze capacity, labor, and material constraints to improve workflow efficiency.
- Collaborate with procurement to ensure materials are aligned with production timelines.
- Generate and present scheduling performance metrics (OTD, capacity utilization, backlog status) to leadership.
- Assist in developing systems and tools for schedule visualization and proactive planning.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying scheduling bottlenecks and process gaps.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and internal safety protocols throughout the scheduling process.
- Ensure a safe and compliant working environment by maintaining safety standards in both the office and shop areas.
- Provide leadership and oversight to Production Supervisors within the Tool Install Products Fabrication group, fostering accountability and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with the assigned accountant to manage budgeting, cost controls, and routine financial activities, including approval of minor expenditures for the business unit.
- Oversee and approve timecards and PTO requests for assigned supervisory staff, ensuring accurate and timely workforce management.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, interviews, and annual performance reviews to support the development and performance of assigned Production Supervisors.
- 5+ years of experience in scheduling, planning, or coordination within a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of fabrication processes, production flow, and capacity planning.
- Proficiency in scheduling software or ERP systems (e.g., Tekla, OSM, Oracle, SAP, etc.) for managing production schedules and fabrication workflows.
- Ability to analyze production data and adjust plans to meet dynamic requirements.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with KPIs related to scheduling, such as On-Time Delivery and throughput efficiency.
- Background in steel fabrication or related metalwork processes.
- Understanding of Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
