
Inventory Analyst Assistant

- Utilizes available reporting to identify late purchase orders (drop ship or stock) and contacts vendors to expedite purchase orders
- Utilizes available reporting to identify items that project to run out of stock before they deliver and contacts vendors to expedite purchase orders
- Escalates any major vendor delays that would cause negative impact to customer experience to Purchasing and Product Management leadership
- Assists vendors in navigating the Global Vendor Portal including routing freight for purchase orders, updating delivery dates, billing drop ship POs, and creating logons for additional vendor contacts
- Works with warehouse and AP teams to process receiving and inventory exceptions according to established time and process guidelines and avoid inventory discrepancies/loss
- Manages a small portfolio of vendors and items and reviews and places purchase orders to the distribution centers for assigned suppliers based on the recommendations of the purchasing system
- Utilizes analytics to identify profit leaks such as excess inventory and supply shortages and takes appropriate action to reduce excess and minimize service gaps including:
o Expediting POs with suppliers and partnering with product management on possible substitutions to resolve backorders in a timely manner
o Proactively communicating future stock-outs and working with Product Management and Sales on alternative solutions
- Meets or exceeds established customer service level goals for assigned items/suppliers
- Excellent organizational and planning skills are required - need strong follow up
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills required Bachelor's degree in Business (Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, Engineering) is preferred but not required
- Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office (high functioning in Excel) is required
