- Develop and execute a benefits strategy that aligns with company goals and supports employee well-being, attraction, and retention.
- Monitor market trends, benchmarking data, and utilization metrics to recommend benefit enhancements or cost containment strategies.
- Support M&A or divestiture activities from a benefits integration or transition perspective.
- Oversee daily operations and vendor relationships for medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and supplemental plans.
- Ensure benefit programs remain compliant with federal, state, and local regulations including ERISA, ACA, COBRA, and HIPAA.
- Administer leave programs in partnership with HR operations and legal teams, ensuring consistency and compliance.
- Manage 401(k) and other retirement plan activities, including plan design, non-discrimination testing, audits, and annual filings (e.g., Form 5500).
- Collaborate with Finance and Legal on benefits-related disclosures for SEC filings, proxy statements, and other public reporting obligations.
- Promote financial wellness programs that support employees' budgeting, savings, and long-term planning goals.
- Design and manage wellness initiatives that promote physical, emotional, and mental health across employee populations.
- Track engagement, measure ROI, and evolve offerings based on employee needs and program impact.
- Oversee the workers’ compensation process, collaborating with Safety, Legal, and third-party administrators on claims management and return-to-work efforts.
- Monitor claim trends and recommend preventative strategies in alignment with work-place safety initiatives.
- Administer benefits in accordance with collective bargaining agreements.
- Support labor negotiations by providing data, insights, and benchmarking related to benefit programs and costs.
- Communications & Engagement
- Develop clear and engaging benefit communications for all employee segments, including open enrollment materials, FAQs, and targeted campaigns.
- Partner with internal communications, HR, and managers to ensure benefits are well understood and accessible to all employees.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, Finance, or a related field; CEBS or equivalent certification preferred.
- 8 years of progressive experience in benefits management, with a demonstrated ability to balance strategic planning and hands-on execution.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. benefit laws, retirement plan compliance, and workers' compensation administration.
- 2-3 years’ experience supporting benefits programs for both salaried and union employees in a manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with public company reporting requirements related to executive compensation and benefits disclosures.
- Proven ability to manage vendors, analyze data, and effectively communicate complex information to varied audiences.
- Proficiency in HRIS platforms (Workday preferred), Microsoft Excel, and benefits administration systems.
