Salary: $18 per hour
Expected hours: 2-10 hours per weekDuties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement engaging and enriching activities for youth (ages 5 – 13) according to the Girl Scouts Leadership Experience (GSLE) educational goals and themes.
- Develop positive relationships with youth in their program, parents, and school staff.
- Ensure required paperwork is completed by girls, families and/or site staff to include daily student attendance, registrations forms, outcomes surveys, and other reporting documents.
- Deliver informational presentations for girls and adults through the identified sites to recruit girls and adult volunteers.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with local schools, parent organizations and community organizations
- Submit lesson plans of program activities for each session in advance.
- Implement end of session evaluations
- Work within the established budget.
- Belief in the mission and values of Girl Scouting; be willing to subscribe to the principles expressed in the Promise and Law and Wisconsin Badgerland Girl Scouts mission, vision, and values.
- High School diploma/equivalent or Associate’s Degree in Education, Communications, Social Work, or related field.
- 1+ years of experience working with school-aged children, at summer camp or after school programs.
- Other combinations of education, with relevant experience that demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of the position, will be considered.
- Ability to teach simple concepts to engage youth in Girl Scouts activities.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated ability and sensitivity working with youth and persons of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and lifestyles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, experience working with cloud-based platforms, and Salesforce preferred.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with a bias towards execution and action.
- Outstanding project management skills and operates with an entrepreneurial, solutions-oriented mindset.
- Skilled relationship builder with a demonstrated ability to motivate and collaborate effectively across difference and across every level of the organization.
- A proactive team player willing to pitch in at all levels while also holding a big picture, systems thinking mindset.
- Exceptional written and verbal communicator.
- Strong work ethic with a high degree of curiosity and a learning orientation; someone who leads and operates with a high level of integrity, confidentiality and discretion.
- Spanish/Bilingual skills a plus.
- Be or become a registered member of the Girls Scouts of the United States of America; have a working knowledge of Girl Scout philosophy and programming and be committed to the Girl Scout mission. Prior Girl Scout experience is not required.
- 18 years or older.
- Must be able to frequently work irregular hours, including nights and weekends; should be available 1-2 afternoons (Monday-Thursday) per week.
- Anticipated time away from office is 100%.
- Possess a valid drivers’ License and proof of insurance.
- Must be able to work both in an office setting and independently off-site.
*Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
*Operate office equipment manually.
