Supports the implementation of the Adult Day (AD) curriculum, tracks attendance trends, and facilitates staff understanding of program goals. Provides guidance to new instructors as a Learning Leader, assists with personal care, teaches independent living skills, and helps coordinate structured schedules and themed events to promote engagement and consistency in care. Plans and conducts daily classes/activities with the clients. Instructs and engages clients daily on their Individual Program Plan (IPP) objectives, using positive reinforcement and enthusiasm to complete goals. Provides habilitation training in life areas as required by DDS and CARF standards. Adheres to all program guidelines, including Medicaid, DDS, and CARF standards. Complies with proper lifting techniques and mechanical lift machine procedures. Responsible for personal care needs of clients, as needed.Life Skill Instructor Duties:
Maintains needed communications with Immediate Supervisor.
Maintains written curriculum on weekly basis with advisement of Adult Development (AD) Manager.
Plans and conducts daily classes/activities with the consumers.
Instructs and engages clients daily on their Individual Program Plan (IPP) objectives, using positive reinforcement and enthusiasm to complete goals.
Adheres to all program guidelines, including Medicaid, DDS, and CARF standards.
Provides habilitation training in life areas as required by DDS and CARF standards.
Completes in-service training required by DDS and/or Administration and out-of-area training, as required.
Attends in-house training as required by supervisor. Meetings may be after hours.
Assures Policy and Procedures Manual is followed.
Transports clients during training hours, as needed.
Attends Annual Review on all Adult Education clients, upon request.
Maintains daily Medicaid notes on each client, as applicable.
Maintains and cleans classrooms, training areas, and kitchen as directed by AD Manager.
Maintains daily documentation on Data Sheets, Progress Notes, AD Goal Sheets, ICF daily log, etc., as required.
Completes Behavior, Seizure, and Incident Reports, timely and as needed.
Assists in keeping all class supplies/materials organized and replenished.
Provides Active Treatment Requirements to all clients who reside in the ICF.
Complies with proper lifting techniques and mechanical lift machine procedures.
Always maintains professional attitude/manner when dealing with clients, families, co-workers, etc.
Responsible for personal care needs of clients, as needed.
Serves as Driver for participant day trips to various state locations. Driving may be required on as much as a daily basis. Required to undergo periodic driving test and demonstrate proficiency in the operation of a motor vehicle, including passenger vans. Employee may also be required to drive his/her own personal vehicle at times and maintain adequate liability coverage on any personal vehicle used to transport participants.
Lead Duties:
Assist AD Manager in developing/planning AD Curriculum, themed learning days/weeks, Weekly and Monthly Events to enhance client engagement and social development.
Work collaboratively with supervisors, therapists, AD service coordinators, and AD instructors to resolve issues regarding consumers and provide support as needed.
Assist AD Manager in tracking attendance and monitor trends for all clients.
Assist AD Manager in implementing AD Curriculum and events to ensure all AD Instructors have understanding.
Provide support and act as a mentor to AD Instructors and serve as the Learning Leader for new staff.
Work with AD Manager to develop rotating bathroom and break schedules for smooth transitions and ensuring staff to client ratios at all times.
Work with AD Manger to develop and maintain schedules for bathroom breaks, meals and structured downtime for clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
