Address: 720 N. 87th St. - Omaha, NEWork Schedule: Part-time; days, nights, and weekend opportunities availableProvides guidance, support, and structure to the learning process of Basic Life Support (BLS)/Advanced Life Support (ALS).Responsibilities:Essential FunctionsMaintains educational standards set by the American Heart Association and outlined policies and procedures of the Community and Technical Colleges (CTC) and those set forth by Nebraska Methodist College (NMC).Demonstrates appropriate and professional role modeling to facilitate learning in the classroom setting by demonstrating professional behavior at all times.Provides appropriate instruction specific to the age and culture of the participant, to ensure understanding and comfort level of content.Creates a safe environment by maintaining the established standards on cleaning and disinfecting of equipment and reducing the risk of infectious transmission through participant education, assessment and monitoring.Communicates effectively with participants, peers and supervisor utilizing effective communication, conflict resolution and problem solving skills that promotes an environment of cooperation.Assists and mentors Basic Life Support (BLS)/Advanced Life Support (ALS) Instructors to allow for continued professional growth.Report concerns regarding the Basic Life Support (BLS)/Advanced Life Support (ALS) program content, equipment and other related issues to the Basic Life Support (BLS) / Advanced Life Support (ALS) Coordinator to allow for continuous improvement of the program.Sets up, conducts and cleans up the classroom, equipment, and other sites used.Maintains responsibility for continued educational growth and maintaining Instructor status in order to maintain the knowledge and skills necessary to deliver safe, effective instruction.Promotes the Basic Life Support (BLS)/Advanced Life Support (ALS) programs provided by the AHA to interested consumers to encourage knowledge of Basic Life Support (BLS)/Advanced Life Support (ALS) in all environments.Must attend mandated meetings as called by Nebraska Methodist College Administration and Basic Life Support (BLS) / Advanced Life Support (ALS) Coordinator.Performs all other duties as assigned.Schedule:Part-time; days, nights, and weekend opportunities availablJob Description:Job RequirementsEducation
  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (G.E.D) required
Experience
  • Previous Instructor experience preferred.
License/Certifications
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support Instructor (BLS.I) certification required within 90 days of hire.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for instruction training and positive interaction required.
  • Skilled in operating a computer, including a computer mouse and keyboard, required.
  • Able to work in a diverse environment required.
  • Able to work as a team required.
