LaAmistad Animate Summer Academy is looking for dedicated, enthusiastic, interns. We seek for caring individuals to support recreational activities in our summer program. Candidates should expect to work about 10-15 hours per week. These hours are flexible but will typically occur Monday-Friday between 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.Anímate Summer Academy· Assist with carrying out the LaAmistad Anímate curriculum· Act as leaders for the students· Lead academic and recreational activities for the students· Work with location staff to ensure that all students are on task and all activities are completed properly and effectivelyFundraising and Development:· Identify and research potential donors, including corporations, foundations, and individuals· Assist in creating materials needed for donor solicitation, including letters, electronic presentations, and informational packets· Help maintain database with donor and prospect information· Assist with organization and tracking of annual fundraising campaign· Special events planning, outreach and communications;Marketing and Communications:· Assist with video, social media, & other communication projects· Research and create content for website· Document program components each week via social media· Work with Community Engagement Manager to create both social media and marketing contentVolunteer Management· Assist Volunteer Coordinator will registering and processing LaAmistad volunteers· Work with the volunteer management team to research and create a recruitment plan for the 2024 schoolyear· Create any volunteer instructional/recruitment materialsManaging the Non-profit:· Assist in preparing materials for local advisory board· Complete all other duties as assignedRequirements:· Must be highly flexible· Interest in nonprofit programming and/or nonprofit development· Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills· Self-motivation; ability to work both independently and as a team player· Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail, with strong organizational skills
  • Must have business/professional attire
  • Requires the physical mobility to sit or walk for moderate periods of time and to occasionally carry or lift objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Must provide own Laptop.
  • Each role with LaAmistad is part of a strong team. To support the team, you will likely be required to walk quickly across varying distances on our campuses, lift and carry supplies and other materials, push heavy rolling carts, and climb multiple flights of stairs as well as have adequate hearing and vision to successfully navigate the requirements of the position.
