Nicholson is part of a global network of unparalleled geotechnical resources and expertise, specializing in deep foundations, earth retention, ground treatment and ground improvement.Summary:The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for processing accurate and timely payrolls using ADP, ensuring compliance with multi-state and union regulations, and managing certified payroll reporting. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills and a deep understanding of payroll systems and labor compliance.Essential Functions:
  • Process weekly payrolls using ADP Workforce Now.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations across multiple states.
  • Prepare and submit certified payroll reports in accordance with prevailing wage requirements.
  • Manage union payroll reporting, including dues, benefits, and other deductions.
  • Reconcile payroll data and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with HR and Accounting departments to ensure accurate employee records and reporting.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and tax withholdings.
  • Assist with audits and provide documentation as needed.
Education & Experience:
  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required along with at least 2 years of payroll experience, preferably in a multi-state and unionized environment. Construction industry experience is highly preferred.
Knowledge and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of multi-state union reporting, including payment of fringe benefits and dues
  • Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now or similar payroll systems.
  • Strong understanding of certified payroll requirements and prevailing wage laws.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Excel and other reporting tools.
Physical Requirements:
  • Lift, carry, pull and push at least 40 pounds
  • Travel per the company travel policy, often overnight and away from home
