- Confers with Alaska plant management and supervisors to identify seasonal crew needs, job specifications, job duties, qualifications, and skills.
- Reviews applications and interviews applicants to obtain work history, job skills, and provide information about the organization and positions.
- Manages the hiring process for multiple plants and/or vessels assigned. Includes the management of the recruiting database of candidates and all screenings associated to qualify the eligibility of candidates.
- Works with the company travel agency to coordinate and reserve airline travel arrangements for employees during contract signing periods.
- Initiates contact with possibly qualified candidates for specific job openings.
- Screens and refers candidates for additional interviews with others in the organization and provides information on company facilities, work environment, and job opportunities to potential applicants.
- Travels to Alaska shore plants to facilitate applications for returning workers at the end of each season (2-4 weeks per year).
- Uploads electronic documents into employee records.
- Travels to other cities to conduct recruiting job fairs and interviews to attract new candidates each season as needed.
- 1-2 years' experience in Human Resources, with at least 1 year of Human Resources administrative experience or 1-2 years related experience and/or training.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1-6 months related experience and/or training.
- Proficiency in Spanish.
- Proven candidate sourcing and relationship-building skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel across the L48 states and to remote Alaska, up to 10%.
- Available to work weekends as needed during contract signing seasons, typically January and June.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Excel.
- General knowledge of various employment laws and practices
- Excellent presentation skills, in English and secondary language. Spanish speaking skills preferred.
