- Conduct timesheet, expense report, and other approvals.
- Hold regular one-on-one meetings and complete bi-annual performance reviews.

- Provide status reports and updates on direct reports as needed.
- Lead substation design efforts (Physical Electrical and Protection & Control) across various utility voltage levels and clients.
- Conduct engineering studies and calculations (e.g., grounding, shielding, lighting, raceway fill, station service sizing).
- Apply industry standards, safety codes, and regulatory requirements to all projects.
- Develop specifications for equipment, materials, construction, testing, and commissioning.
- Perform quality control (QC) reviews on engineering deliverables for projects of all sizes.
- Ensure proper documentation of technical data and design decisions.
- Coordinate with project and program managers to ensure successful project delivery.
- Participate in client meetings and job-site visits to gather and deliver engineering information.
- Support project planning and proposal development.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
- Eight (8+) years of prior relevant experience in utility substation engineering with a B.S. degree
- Six (6+) years of prior relevant experience in utility substation engineering with an M.S. degree
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
- Experience with personnel supervision.
- Experience as a substation lead engineer performing QC reviews
- Experience with staff technical training and professional mentorship
- Experience with serving as firm-client liaison in a support and lead engineering role
- Advocacy of Quality Assurance and Control standards
- Comprehensive understanding of the utility grid system and substation engineering design practices
- Comprehensive understanding of industry standards (NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE/ANSI) and their application.
- Experience researching design issues, evaluating alternatives, and making recommendations
- Ability to support critical deadlines in potentially high pressure situations
- Team player who will work in a team environment comprised of a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- High level of computer competency
- Proficiency with using MS Office applications
- Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
- Experience with engineering programs and software (including SKM, ASPEN, ETAP, CDEGS or vendor software)
- Construction support experience
- Active membership in national engineering societies and work-groups (IEEE, PES, etc.)
