- Develop the next generation of industry-leading computing hardware and peripheral automotive modules for self-driving vehicles;
- Support the packaging and assembly of Aurora computing hardware into OEM partner trucking platforms;
- Collaborate with and learn from the world-class experts in Aurora's Hardware Product Engineering (HPE) team and larger Hardware organization;
- Work at a safety-focused, publicly-traded leader in autonomous vehicles that has achieved the world's first on-road deployment of autonomous trucks
- BS / MS in Mechanical Engineering and 2-5yrs of industry experience in Mechanical Engineering
- Proficient in CAD design - Catia preferred, but not required
- Prior experience in 2D drawing creation using GD&T
- Prior experience creating mechanical parts that interface with electrical components (PCBAs, Sensors, etc.)
- Exposure to component design for high volume manufacturing processes like injection molding, diecasting, and stamping
- Exposure to designing for harsh environments including shock/vibration and temperature cycling with long term durability
- Experience in troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of hardware systems
- Strong presentation and documentation skills for participating in critical design decision
- Experience with high power, high thermal density, and high speed electronics (for example, server / networking design, avionics design, etc).
- Experience designing for mechanical control outlines (MCO) of printed circuit board assemblies
- Experience with designing to Automotive standards, like ISO 16750 or similar
- Experience going through an automotive PPAP process
- Prior experience with High Volume/Contractor Manufacturers, including DFM/DFA, build support, and ECO processes.
- Background in electronics module packaging for integrated assemblies
- Exposure or participation in DFMEA exercises
