Leading several teams of SREs to build infrastructure, automation, tools, and best practicesEffectively communicate and collaborate with both partner engineering teams and as well as executive leadershipOwn and drive key company-wide engineering initiatives such as observability, resilience, incident response, performance, or business continuity of our Cloud servicesArchitect, design, and hands-on implementation of infrastructure, automation, tooling, and best practices which can be adopted by all cloud engineering teams across the companyInspire the team and partners by bringing in new ideas to the table, defining next-generation improvements and providing guidance on reliability best practicesFosters a culture of innovations, encourages blameless, early failure to learn from mistakesContinuously improve engineering practices to increase quality, velocity, productivity, and to provide better visibility on the progress of workMentor the teams and invest in continuous development of high-performing team of engineers by inspiring a sense of pride and ownership in the work they do. Coach less experienced managersRetain existing talent and participate in hiring and attracting top industry talentWhat will you bring:Proven track record (10+yrs) of architecting and hands on engineering commercial large-scale products and servicesProven track record (3+) years of managing a team of engineers and other engineering managers in commercial product developmentExperience architecting scalable multi-tenant services using container orchestration with vanilla or K8s based solutions as OpenShift, Mirantis, etc.Excellent technical leadership and communication during a crisis. Able to act as either an Incident Commander or to dive deep into debugging and troubleshootingExceptional design and problem solving skills and coaching coding skillsEffective communication skills, ability to distill complex data and facilitate effective conversationsExperience building strategic roadmaps, tracking delivery, and managing accountability both up and down.Experience with leading and hands-on development plus operation of cloud services at scale on Azure, AWS or GCPExperience with monitoring, scaling, disaster recovery, and automating global cloud serviceProficiency in one or more object-oriented languages (such as C#/C++/Java) backend by solid computer science fundamentals, algorithms, data structureExperience and ability to work with globally distributed teamPrefer a candidate local to Bellevue, Washington.
