- Develop detailed project plans, including both internal and customer-facing cost and schedule estimates.
- Engage with customers, vendors, and suppliers to execute projects safely and effectively.
- Support data collection by reviewing inspection data, logging billable units, validating measurements and condition ratings, and supporting quality control efforts.
- Identify and document structural rejects and provide recommendations for repairs.
- Report on revenue and project costs daily.
- Perform regular schedule, cost, and revenue trend analysis.
- Monitor team performance and production trends and communicate/address issues with urgency.
- Procure and source various materials and equipment.
- Maintain inventory of various material (fabricated steel, hardware, anodes).
- Serve as single point of contact for customer relations and ensure satisfaction.
- Support the Operations team by providing occasional technical training.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in the electric utility industry, specifically with steel transmission structures (preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in managing or supporting construction projects (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of groundline structure inspection techniques and industry standards (preferred).
- Strong leadership and motivational skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment with free exchange of ideas.
- Able to provide ideas and consider ideas of others without prejudice.
- Good verbal and written communications skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate equally as well with crew members as with executive management and customers.
- Proficient reading and interpreting construction documents, including construction drawings, specifications, CPM schedules and budgets.
- Must be willing and able to travel frequently (both by air and driving) week to week effectively oversee projects, attend client meetings, and maintain a field presence over a large geographic area. Estimated 10-25% travel is expected.
- Ability to work varied hours as required to achieve desired production results.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft programs (Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project).
