- Design, install, configure, and maintain resort-wide LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues across all resort facilities.
- Ensure network security through firewalls, access controls, and timely patching of hardware and software.
- Maintain and support network connectivity for critical resort systems including RFID Lift Access, Snowmaking Control Systems, Digital Signage, POS platforms, and others.
- Collaborate with IT, operations, and guest services teams to support business and guest connectivity needs.
- Perform routine network maintenance, updates, and backups to ensure system reliability and data integrity.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of network architecture, procedures, and configurations.
- Manage network hardware inventory and recommend upgrades or replacements to ensure optimal performance.
- Provide physical support to network infrastructure, including house wiring cable runs, AP and switch deployments, fiber splicing, termination and troubleshooting of copper and fiber, among other layer 1 tasks.
- Respond to and resolve technical support requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Support seasonal setup and takedown of networking infrastructure at temporary or remote resort locations.
- Act as the primary initial point of contact for network troubleshooting escalation.
- Perform network related root/cause analysis: Identify clear problem descriptions that distinguish symptoms and impact, as well as identification of underlying factors.
- Perform assigned tasks with minimal oversight.
- Contribute to the design process, identify potential caveats, and propose ideas that will improve the overall network technology environment.
- Maintain and help to improve cybersecurity awareness and consider company posture implications of system configurations.
- Maintain compliance with written IT policies/standards/processes/work instructions.
- Use vendor support as required.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Strong understanding of LAN/WAN, switches, routers, and network protocols, with hands-on experience diagnosing and resolving connectivity issues.
- Proficient in designing and maintaining large-scale, high-density Wi-Fi networks across diverse resort environments using enterprise-grade access points and controllers.
- Skilled in managing Windows and Linux servers, including DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, and file/print services.
- Monitors firewalls, IDS/IPS, ACLs, and ensures compliance with security standards like PCI DSS to protect guest and corporate data.
- Experienced with tools like PRTG, Wireshark, and SIEM platforms for real-time network performance and threat monitoring.
- Maintains and troubleshoots VoIP systems with a focus on QoS and reliable internal/external communication. Maintains thorough documentation of network infrastructure, change logs, and supports IT projects with planning and cross-departmental coordination.
- Understands the unique needs of a resort environment, including POS systems, RFID ticketing, snowmaking systems, and outdoor infrastructure challenges.

- The successful applicant may be required to carry a cellular phone and to be on call.
- Working environment can include dirty, dusty, damp, dark, hot and cold conditions.
- Ability to ski or ride to on mountain locations.
- Appropriate equipment will be provided for hazardous conditions.
- Require a minimum of High School diploma or equivalent.
- Requires 4 years of related work experience or 2 years of experience in Big Sky IT.
- Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications is required.
- CompTIA Network+ and Security+ preferred
- CCNA or CCNP preferred.
- Ability to use basic hand tools is required.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record for company insurance purposes.
- Ability to ski or snowboard at or above the beginner level to perform on-mountain tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs, 40lbs assisted.
- Ability to use common technician hand tools.
- Ability to work in areas without handicap access.
- Ability to work on a ladder.
- Ability to communicate verbally with public, customers and employees.
- Ability to read manuals, documentation and computer screens.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
