This position is an integral part of Public Safety and will be primarily responsible for the enforcement of all Village traffic control, including but not limited to assisting with ambulance or fire calls; lock-outs from auto or home; lost children; motorist assists; and any other related CSO tasks assigned and listed in the Community Service Officer I job description.Position Requirements:
The successful candidate must be a high school graduate or equivalent and possess a valid Class D driver's license. The candidate should be familiar with local parking ordinances and the State of Illinois traffic laws. The position requires the candidate to be able to walk, stand, and drive for prolonged periods of time to include working independently without direct supervision.
Essential position requirements include excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to remain calm during stressful situations. An ideal candidate must clearly demonstrate written, oral, listening, and organizational skills. Exceptional customer service skills when engaging with residents, motorists, and the general public.Compensation and Benefits:
The hourly range is between $30.43 to $40.38 with the starting hourly rate DOQ. This position may include participation in a retirement plan through the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF), access to the Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and the ability to participate in the Flexible Spending Account Program for out-of-pocket medical, dependent care, and transportation expenses. In addition, this position will receive 40 hours of paid time-off annually.Application and Selection Process
