CFA’s core purpose is to improve the quality of life of this and future generations by helping people protect and be good stewards of our environment and natural resources.Summary:The analyst prepares and analyzes environmental samples using standard analytical techniques according to scientific and EPA methodology in compliance with CFA’s Quality Assurance program and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Demonstrates and supports the GEL Group’s core values
Ability to become trained and competent on complex instrumentation and instrument specific data systems
Prepares samples for analysis based on SOPs
Performs routine instrument maintenance as needed
Maintains an organized and clean work area stocked with the necessary materials
Follows protocol for proper tracking and disposal of samples using set guidelines and instructions
Prepares all documentation associated with preparation and analysis of the samples
Follows written and verbal instructions in compliance with CFA’s Quality Assurance Program and other policies
Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with CFA’s Health and Safety Plan
Performs other duties as assigned
Typical Education and Experience Required:Bachelor of Science, preferably in a science discipline.Other Knowledge Requirements:
Demonstrated organizational skills
Fundamental principles, practices and techniques of chemistry are a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient computer skills, including but not limited to, WORD, EXCEL and other standard operating programs/systems
Attention to detail and teamwork are key

Physical Requirements and Working Environment:The physical demands outlined are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job:
Mobility to work in a lab and office setting
Use of standard office and lab equipment and stamina to sit or stand for extended periods of time
Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects
