The math teacher is a member of the school’s Upper Division and reports to the Upper Division Head. This
full-time, 10-month position comes with the responsibility of working with faculty and staff to teach four
sections of Upper Division math in support of the school’s mission and curricular goals.Responsibilities● Design, plan, and implement creative and innovative student-centered lessons which demonstrate a
deep understanding of the academic discipline, curriculum, instruction, child development, and best
practices, aligned with the goals and mission of The Park School
● Serve as primary contact between home and school as an Upper Division Advisor of a small group of
students
● Fosters a classroom environment where students feel comfortable to take risks, make mistakes, and be
curious
● Assess student performance and engagement, including academics, behavior, and social-emotional
needs, while communicating directly with students, colleagues, and families both formally and
informally when necessary
● Establish and implement expectations for student safety and conduct; and procedures and routines,
consistent with Park School policies.
● Participate in the school community, including faculty and committee work, weekly school duties, and
activities such as (e.g., Grandparents & Special Friends Day, Yule festival, Spring Break Silent
Disco, May Day etc.).
● Collaborate with all Park School employees as appropriate and consistent with Park’s policies, mission
and values.● Participate in and contribute to an adult learning community by engaging in meetings, discussions,
committees, task forces, and professional development.
● Collaborate with the Director of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion to keep multiculturalism and diversity
as a priority of curricular work and curriculum development
● Ensure that respect for diversity, equity, and inclusion, social emotional learning, and academic
excellence are emphasized as core values of The Park School.
● Complete administrative tasks and coverage duties as assigned (student supervision, attendance,
reporting, documenting curriculum, event/activity coverage, etc.)
● Meaningfully integrate technologies into class lessons, for student learning and growth
● Utilize feedback and reflection to improve practice and performance
● Meet expectations as defined by the Park School Employee Essential ExpectationsQualifications● Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred.
● Three (3) to five (5) years of teaching experience at the middle school level is preferred.
● Strong interpersonal skills with students, colleagues, and other adults
● Strong communication skills, including experience in writing student comments and other
school-related documents
● Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging in teaching and learning &
experience in working in a culturally diverse community.

● The ability to hold meetings in person and via supported video conference tools (i.e. Zoom or Google
Meet)
● Proficient or the ability to learn Google tools and other applications as adopted by the school, such as
Veracross, SchoolPass, Atlas etc.
Physical Requirements:
● The ability to sit and stand uninterrupted for 30 minute periods of time.
● The ability to traverse on and across variable surfaces (e.g. level flooring, stairs, turf, gravel, asphalt, etc.).
● The ability to lead, supervise and accompany students to all areas of the school campus (including all
indoor and outdoor areas), including during day-to-day responsibilities and in case of emergency.
● The ability to position oneself (e.g., stand, sit, crouch, and kneel down) in order to support students.
● The ability to work outdoors, year-round, in variable weather conditions.
● The ability to lift and hold 15 lbs overhead.● The ability to occasionally transport (e.g., move or drag) 25 lbs
