POSITION SUMMARY: This position is First (1st) Shift: 7:00am-2:30pmTo maintain facility equipment and physical structures of the campus and related out buildings. Upkeep and routine maintenance of the electrical, mechanical, HVAC, refrigeration, Life Safety devices and emergency generator systems are the primary duties. Knowledge of fire regulations and Regulatory Agencies, i.e. AHCA, TJC, EPA, OSHA, NEC, NFPASpecial Considerations/Age Specifications:Age legend not applicable. This position has no responsibility for the assessment, treatment, or care of patients. However, the ability to communicate and interact with patients of all ages is required.Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
  • Able to Lift minimum 50lbs unassisted
  • Prolonged standing and walking
  • Climbing, bending and stooping
  • Pushing and Pulling
  • Repetitive motion
  • Exposure to chemicals, electrical hazards and infectious environments
  • Adheres to dress code, appearance is neat and clean
  • Exposed to extreme temperatures: heat, cold and various weather conditions
  • Noise level in work environment usually moderate
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Skills/Aptitudes
  • Must be able to speak, read, and understand basic instructions, operating and repair manuals
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Basic experience working with tools, hand and electrical
  • Able to measure with precision
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail
  • Good mechanical aptitude, dependability and thoroughness
  • Working knowledge of the operation and maintenance of heating and air conditioning system
CUSTOMER SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs duties and conducts interpersonal relationships in a manner designed to project a positive image of the department and the hospital. Works with supervisor/manager and other members of section or department to promote a harmonious work environment. Ensures that all contacts with patients, the public, physicians and other hospital personnel are carried out in a friendly, courteous, helpful and considerate manner. Answers telephones in a prompt and courteous manner. Displays concern and provides assistance or explains procedures as appropriate to callers or in face-to-face situations. Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers. Works with customers to identify problem areas and recommend solutions.
