- Observe and conduct cold/hot checks of equipment, noting condition and parameters for any out of specification readings or settings, as requested.
- Conduct oversight of repairs being conducted to equipment for technical completion and standards onboard ships or shipyards.
- Observe operation of specified systems and equipment by ship's force to witness the full range of performance.
- Attend conferences, seminars etc, on request, reporting discussion points, results, or outcomes to the appropriate government SME.
- Provide on the job training to Ships Force during any shipboard evaluations as needed.
- Already possess an active or interim Secret security clearance (preferred);
- OR be eligible for a Secret security clearance upon hire.
- High school diploma/GED equivalent.
- Associate degree, technical school diploma, or vocational certificate in a relevant discipline is preferred.
- Demonstrate proficiency interpreting shipboard drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams, as well as technical manuals and other associated manuals, instructions, and procedures.
- Must also possess the ability to trace signal paths at the equipment and systems levels
- Be familiar with and ensure compliance with:
- Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFFM)
- NAVSEA Standard Items
- OPNAVINST 9220.3 (series)
- NAVSEAINST C9210.4 (series)
- OPNAVINST N9210.3 (series)
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience in operation, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and assessment of DDG MCS and/or CG ISC and support systems
- Possess working knowledge of Universal Engine Controllers (UEC), Interim Integrated Electronic Controller (IIEC), Engine Controllers (EC), Shaft Control Units (SCU), Universal Control Consoles (UCC), and Digital Fuel Control (DFC), Stand Alone Maintenance Unit (SAMU)computer, Data Acquisition Unit (DAU), Data Acquisition Enclosure (DAE), ISC, TAC-4 Consoles and other shipboard control and monitoring devices.
- Ability to troubleshoot propulsion and auxiliary hardware, such as transducers, Resistance Temperature Detectors (RTE), Thermocouples, Signal Conditioners, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), FADC, and PC-based control and monitoring systems.
