
Veterinary Cardiology Technician, AESC

The Cardiology Technician provides patient care for a wide variety of cardiology patients under the direction of the Cardiologist. This is a dynamic role that consists of Technician appointments, assisting the DVM with their echocardiograms, performing a variety of diagnostics, and managing a high volume of client communication and prescription refill requests.Compensation:
- $22 - $32 hourly, based on experience
- Full Time
- Tuesday - Friday
- 4x10 hour shifts
- 7am-5pm
- Facilitates the department schedule: consultations, rechecks, Technician appointments and procedures.
- Documents medical information in the hospital’s PIMS, Ezyvet, and utilizes Smartflow for treatment whiteboards.
- Prepares exam and procedure rooms for each visit, anticipating needs of the DVM.
- Obtain patients current body weight, reason for visit and brief history. Obtain other vitals and lab work as needed.
- Perform and assist with all aspects of animal restraint for exams and procedures.
- Collects and processes all bloodwork, administers medications, and assists with procedures and echocardiograms per the doctor’s orders.
- Under the direction of the cardiologist and anesthesiologist, runs anesthesia/sedation during procedures as needed.
- Prepare estimates and collect payment as needed.
- Answers a high volume of client phone calls and emails in real time. Before the end of each day, process all communications that are pending and process any prescription refill requests.
- Other duties as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 years of Veterinary Technician experience required.
- Registered Veterinary Technician, in Colorado, or the ability to become registered upon hire.
- Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!
- At least 3 years of Veterinary Technician experience in a Specialty Hospital.
- Experience running anesthesia
