- Install, configure, and maintain control systems, including PLCs and HMI software.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and control system issues to minimize downtime.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on control equipment.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to design and implement control solutions that enhance efficiency and quality.
- Document system modifications, maintenance activities, and standard operating procedures.
- Train staff on control system operations and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and industry standards.
- Assist in the development of project specifications and timelines.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical and control systems.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Familiarity with HMI and SCADA systems specific to food production environments.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in programming PLCs (e.g. Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
- Knowledge of network protocols (e.g. Ethernet/IP, Modbus).
- Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Controls Technician or similar role in food manufacturing or related industries.
- Experience with robotics and automation.
- Exposure to both the office setting and food manufacturing facility.
- Significant amount of time working at a computer station.
- Occasional visits to various areas of the manufacturing floor.
- Must wear required PPE while in all manufacturing areas.
- Moving parts and machinery are present in the plant.
- Frequent sitting, standing, or walking.
- Occasional ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Ability to physically perform functions of repetitive motion, grasping, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping, balancing, and climbing.
- Noise levels will vary, higher noise levels exist while in the plant operations areas.
