Our client is an international pharmaceutical innovator and partner with a purposeful expansion approach worldwide.Summary:
  • The Business Development Manager position has the main responsibility of driving financial growth for the company through identification and pursuit of projects that are aligned with the Company’s strategy and with current capabilities and service offerings.
  • This individual will also be responsible for contributing to the identification of new technologies that are key to ensuring future growth and collaborating with internal teams and senior management to ensure alignment.
  • Remote positions – ideal candidates wanted near international airports.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities to ensure that our growth is in alignment with the business strategy.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including potential customers, partners, and industry leaders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute strategic business plans.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends and competitive landscape.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with customers and partners.
  • Manage budgets effectively to achieve business objectives.
  • Prepare and present business development reports and performance metrics to Department Head.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings.
  • Promote the company brand in alignment with our marketing strategy and following our communications policies.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to increase market share and revenue.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with business development activities.
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of potential business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure development of technologies and capabilities in alignment with market current and future needs.
  • Build business cases to support the acquisition of new capacities, capabilities and technologies.
  • Manage and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during business development activities.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures with regards to health, safety, prevention, and the environment.
  • Represent and defend the company culture and values.
  • Be able to work collaboratively in a team environment towards common goals.
  • Organizational chart and relationships.
Education:
  • BS, or MS in Chemistry or master’s in business administration or degree related to one of those two fields of study. PhD is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
  • Sales training is preferred but not required.
Other Qualifications:
  • Proven track record of successful business development and achieving sales targets.
  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and market dynamics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed for business development activities (estimated 25 to 35% of the time and a combination of domestic and international travel)
  • Experience with market research and analysis.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Experience with budget management and resource allocation.
  • Ability to think strategically and develop long-term business plans.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and business needs.
Languages:
  • English Native
  • Spanish preferred, but not required
  • Other languages are welcomed
Professional Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Business Development as a CMO or CDMO in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • A developed network of potential customers with active projects is preferred.
  • Proven track record of achieving business targets (revenue and GM%) in alignment with company goals.
  • Proven experience building business cases for development and expansion of internal capabilities.
