California Nursing Job Details
  • Location: Crescent City, CA 95531 (Northern California nursing jobs)
  • Healthcare Setting: Community Hospital ICU
  • Assignment Length: 13 weeks (September 22, 2025 – December 22, 2025)
  • Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights (19:15 – 07:15), 3 shifts per week
  • Hours per Week: 36
  • Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2080 - $2230
  • Patient Ratios: 1:2 in ICU; may float to ER or Med/Surg (ratios 1:4-5)
  • Orientation: 12 hours plus e-learning modules
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • On Call/Call Off: Based on census
ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications
  • Active California RN license (required at time of submission)
  • BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS (all AHA, in hand at submission)
  • Experience with Epic charting system preferred
  • Ability to float to ER or Med/Surg as needed
  • Must be able to complete lab work within 3-5 days of signing
  • Comfortable caring for adolescent, adult, pediatric, and geriatric patient populations
ICU Nurse Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill patients in a 6-bed ICU (daily census 4-6)
  • Manage and monitor patients requiring advanced interventions: ventilator management, arterial lines, central lines, CVVHD/CRRT, and vasoactive drips
  • Administer blood products, emergency medications, and procedural sedation
  • Interpret ABGs, dysrhythmias, and implement infection prevention protocols
  • Assist with chest tube insertion/removal, BiPAP/CPAP management, and wound care
  • Float to ER or Med/Surg as needed, maintaining safe nurse/patient ratios
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
  • Document patient care using Epic EMR
