SUMMARYGallatin Operational Solutions, LLC is recruiting for Part Time Level II or III Certified Wastewater Operators for locations in and around Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico. The Company is fully committed to this concept and all personnel are expected to actively participate in the implementation of these policies.JOB DESCRIPTIONUnder general supervision, performs a variety of skilled technical duties and semi-skilled labor in the operation and maintenance of water and/or wastewater facilities; performs adjustments and repairs to plant equipment under the direction of the Operations Manager; collects and documents samples for laboratory testing; and performs a variety of related duties as assigned; completes walkthroughs of equipment and the facility; documents daily activities and plant status; assists in facility maintenance, upkeep, and cleaning. Operators at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise, and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Establishes and maintains effective sample procedures of plant operations and treatment quality.
  • Makes minor process control adjustments, reads gauges and meters, records data, prepares necessary shift log reports under the direction of the Operations Manager.
  • Diagnoses operating problems; directs and performs necessary corrective action during work shift.
  • Prepares required reports and maintains complete record keeping procedures, and assists other staff with reporting.
  • Performs operations and maintenance activities including collecting samples and performing routine laboratory tests and analyses.
  • Maintains discipline and ensures proper procedures are followed.
  • Calculates and determines proper chemical flow rates.
  • Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with those contacted during the course of work.
  • Ability and willingness to work on-call shifts, as requested, must be willing to work off-hours, night, weekend and holiday shifts. Must be willing to be on call, called back, held over or work assigned shifts as needed, including being fit and able to respond to call-ins in a timely manner.
  • Performs other duties as required.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
  • Two - four years minimum experience operating wastewater treatment plants.
  • Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools employed in the general operation of engines, pumps, valves, motors, and related equipment; general maintenance work; safe work practices;
  • Knowledge of computer software including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, data management systems and be able to operate plant PLC’s and SCADA systems.
  • Must have general knowledge of heavy equipment operation such as but not limited to: Backhoe, Loader, and Farm Tractors.
  • Ability to operate all hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical equipment used in water treatment plant operations.
Salary Grade: $20.40 - $34.20 (Hourly) depending on certification and experience.JOB REQUIREMENTSThis description lists examples of duties and requirements of the job and is not all-inclusive.   • High school diploma or GED.
  • New Mexico Level II certification in Wastewater.
  • Two years’ experience in operating wastewater treatment plants.
  • Possess a valid Class A or Class B CDL with no major infractions in the past 3 years.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
  • Ability to pass a general physical exam.
