This role combines 70% technical engineering responsibilities with 30% team leadership, making it an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who is ready to step into a supervisory role.You will lead a small team of skilled technicians in a prototype and low-volume manufacturing environment, working on process development, troubleshooting, and custom equipment implementation. The ideal candidate thrives on root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement, while providing day-to-day direction to ensure production goals are met.Key Responsibilities:
  • Safety & Compliance: Drive a safety-first culture by implementing and enforcing workplace safety practices and regulatory standards.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise a small team of experienced technicians, providing daily guidance on task priorities, machine assignments, and production expectations.
  • Scheduling & Workflow: Develop and enforce shop schedules, balancing engineering and production priorities to meet project milestones.
  • Process Improvement: Analyze manufacturing processes using data and engineering principles to optimize throughput, reduce waste, and improve process control.
  • Corrective & Preventive Actions (CARs): Lead investigations into process and equipment issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Prototype & Custom Equipment Development: Support proof-of-concept initiatives, assist in developing custom machinery, and collaborate on automation solutions for internal operations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, maintenance, quality, and design teams to resolve issues, improve workflows, and maintain production efficiency.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Utilize operational data to monitor KPIs such as scrap, rework, and efficiency; prepare reports for leadership and recommend improvements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Partner with CI teams to identify cost-saving opportunities, eliminate bottlenecks, and enhance process reliability.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide hands-on engineering support for troubleshooting and optimizing processes related to casting, forming, or other complex manufacturing operations.
Job RequirementsMinimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Materials Science, or Industrial preferred).
  • 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing, process engineering, or related roles.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing principles, process optimization, and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Experience with root cause analysis (RCA) and implementing Corrective and Preventive Actions (CARs).
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills with an ability to direct daily activities and priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with technical modeling and statistical tools.
  • Ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced environment with a focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Preferred Skills:
  • Exposure to prototype or low-volume manufacturing and custom equipment design.
  • Knowledge of casting, forming, or complex process environments.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and waste reduction strategies.
Compensation depends on experience but is typically $90-110K plus 9% profit sharing bonusABOUT KORE1
