- Participates in hospital-wide and unit activities.
- Coordinates new employee orientation/education/on-the-job training.
- Assists with scheduling/staffing issues as requested.
- Assists with patient issues/concerns as required.
- Serves as resource person to other staff.
- Collects data for reporting purposes.
- Performs patient-related scheduling, registration, and insurance activities for providers by interacting with ancillary services personnel at this and other institutions to arrange proper diagnostic testing and preparations, verifying current demographic information with patient and updates record into the computer system while ensure correct release of information, providing necessary services to fulfill aspects of encountering protocol such as completion of demographic sheets on all patients, obtaining copies of insurance information, and supporting the need to meet constant and shifting deadlines for individual patient care.
- Handles payments on accounts, charges, and medical co-pays by being responsible for accurate and timely entering daily patient charges in accordance with hospital policy, aiding by billing protocol for registration, encountering, batching and deposits, ensuring that all tickets and batches are posted on time in accordance with hospital policy and ensuring that copays are collected and posted on time in accordance with hospital policy.
- Coordinates or assists Patient Access Supervisor with interviewing and hiring for the department.
- Assists in completing annual evaluations of employees in a timely fashion.
- Acts as a charge person for staff when Patient Access Supervisor is not available.
- Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
- Ensures each patient has the appropriate order in place to proceed with scheduling and other access functions.
- Tracks issues with orders and task/messaging and provides regular feedback to Clinic Operations.
- Works closely with Clinic Operations and other departments regarding technical issues.
- Assists as needed in resolving any system inefficiencies.
- Reports critical issues or changes to the CWS workflow to the Supervisor and/or Director in a timely manner.
- Associates degree in Business Management, Business Administration, or Minimum of two years of hospital experience.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Manual dexterity, color vision, and near visual acuity.
- Demonstrates leadership skills.
- Successful completion of board eligible Phlebotomy training program preferred.
