  • Oversees the investigation, development, design and/or construction of a variety of engineering projects.
  • Recommends hires and promotions, directs and evaluates employment decisions for all assigned positions
  • Oversees work performed by consultants or assigned in house staff on a wide variety of projects.
  • Represents the County with governmental jurisdictions, developers, contractors and the general public on engineering matters.
  • Develops bid specifications and reviews bids. Attends construction meetings & project management.
  • Assists in the preparation of short and long range plans concerning the divisional needs, estimated costs, available financing and operating and engineering requirements
  • Assists in the preparation of the department's budget and water & sewer service rate studies.
  • Assist in the implementation of the department's capacity, management, maintenance, & operations plan (CMOM)
REQUIREMENTS INCLUDERequirements for this position include the following experience or equivalent combination of training and experience:
  • Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering
  • Seven(7) years of professional experience in related phases of public works and stormwater management, or water resources engineering/planning, three of which should be in a managerial or administrative capacity
A valid Illinois Driver's License is required.Registration as a professional engineer by the State of Illinois is required.
