Multi-Disciplinary Evaluator

• Provision of assessment and developmental service in the office, home, school, or other identified setting to meet the unique needs of families served.
• Assists in completing administrative duties, such as scheduling and data collection, as needed.
• Accurate and timely completion of reports, and any other documentation and reports required by agency and program policies and funding sources.
• Knowledge of available services for developmental and psychological services within the community and the ability to collaborate with others to promote a family service plan approach.
• Knowledge and implementation of agency policies and procedure.
• Partners with Supervisor to identify and develop plans for professional growth.
• Contributes to program functioning by assuming responsibility for special tasks or leadership in special projects as appropriate
• Proficiency in completing developmental and psychological assessments in a trauma informed manner.
• Collaboration with DCF, biological/ adoptive parents, and/or foster parents to gather collaborative information.
• Coordination and collaboration with MDE clinic pediatrician(s) and dental hygienist(s) to identify child-specific strengths and needs.
• Synthesize medical, dental, and mental health/ developmental findings in a report and a summary and recommendations document.
• Contributes to agency organizational life by participating in agency wide task forces, committees or problem solving teams as appropriate.
• Contributes to agency visibility and development of community linkages by representing the Village in community groups or committees, as assigned.

• Clinical degree in social work, psychology or other licensed counseling degree.

• Licensure Requirements: CT license required in social work, psychology, counseling or another related field. May be required to maintain valid driver's license and ability to drive or otherwise obtain transportation to provide services throughout the service area.

• Experience Level: Must have significant clinical experience with populations served by the Village, and specialization desirable.
• Specific Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements:

• Diagnostic expertise including mental status examinations, DSM diagnoses, and risk assessments.
• Clinical intervention skills, with experience in empirically validated interventions and crisis management.
• Extensive experience working with culturally diverse urban populations, a wide age range, and a variety of clinical presentations.
• Formal training in the use of developmental assessment measures, their interpretation, and report writing preferred.
• Prior experience in conducting assessments and treatment with young children and families, as well as knowledge of early childhood development, including developmental milestones, attachment theory, and age-appropriate interventions for toddlers and preschoolers preferred.
• Knowledge of mental health, child welfare systems, and community resources.
• Strong computer and typing skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required.
• Good organizational and communication skills.

• Cultural Competency: Sensitivity to the impact of race, gender, sexuality, culture, language and spirituality on mental health treatment and youth required; Familiarity, sensitivity, and/or experience working with diverse and urban populations; Spanish speaking skills required.
