Job Description:ResponsibilitiesSt. Mary’s is a 229-bed, acute care hospital located in Enid, OK. St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center has served the healthcare needs of northwest Oklahoma for more than 100 years. We host more than 125 highly skilled physicians offering specialties in Cardiology, Neurology, Orthopedics, Emergency Medicine, Rehabilitation, Laboratory, Women’s Imaging, Wound Care, and more.Website:Position Summary:The Behavioral Health Activity Coordinator will be responsible for planning, organizing and implementing therapeutic activities for individuals receiving behavioral health services. This person will work closely with clients and other healthcare professionals to develop engaging and therapeutic activities that promote mental health and emotional well-being.Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Plans, organizes and facilitates activities for individuals with behavioral health needs.
  • Develops the activity schedule and curriculum for all activity groups including groups for mental health techs to lead on weekends and evenings.
  • Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of activities in achieving outcomes.
  • Provides individualized support and encouragement to clients in a safe environment during activities.
  • Maintains accurate records of client participation and progress.

QualificationsRequirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certified by the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals required (AD) within 6 months of hire.
  • 1-year experience working in behavioral health settings preferred.
  • Secure training required within 60 days of hiring, renewed annually thereafter.
  • BLS required before working on the floor.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Requires empathy, patience and a genuine desire to help people.
  • Flexibility to adapt activities based on client needs and preferences.
