- Fabricate and weld a variety of structural components by interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and detailed work orders to ensure precision and quality.
- Operate a wide range of fabrication tools and heavy equipment, including saws, torches, plasma cutters, and grinders, while adhering to safety protocols.
- Carry out rigging, lifting, mechanical assembly, and painting tasks as part of large-scale equipment projects, ensuring each component is built to spec.
- Repair both mechanical and electrical issues on machinery, using diagnostic tools and technical knowledge to restore functionality efficiently.
- Construct and install complex electrical systems, including the wiring of components, conduit runs, and control panels, ensuring proper function and safety compliance.
- Maintain detailed documentation of daily tasks and project progress by completing work orders, reports, and time logs with accuracy and consistency.
- Provide hands-on support to field crews by addressing mechanical/electrical problems with equipment used in pipeline rehabilitation operations.
- Safely move, position, and install large parts, frames, and assemblies using appropriate lifting techniques and equipment to prevent injury and damage.
- Conduct general maintenance and repairs on shop machinery and tools to keep equipment in top working condition and avoid downtime.
- High school diploma or GED (technical school a plus)
- 3+ years of hands-on welding/fabrication experience
- Utility construction and mechanical experience preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings
- Proficiency with fabrication tools: saws, grinders, mills, lathes, etc.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly (up to 75 lbs. occasionally)
- Comfortable working in physical environments: standing, kneeling, bending, and crawling
