Speech and Language Pathologist

- Conduct screenings, evaluations, and assessments to identify speech and language impairments
- Interpret evaluation results and determine eligibility under IDEA guidelines
- Maintain appropriate documentation and confidentiality of student records
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans (IEPs) for eligible students
- Provide direct and consultative speech/language therapy in individual or group settings
- Monitor, document, and report on student progress toward IEP goals
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Work closely with teachers to provide strategies and supports within the classroom
- Serve as a resource for staff and families on speech and language development
- Maintain compliance with federal and state special education regulations
- Submit Medicaid billing documentation (if applicable)
- Maintain accurate service logs, data, and required reports in a timely manner
- Stay current with best practices and licensure requirements in speech-language pathology
- Attend district and state-mandated professional development as required
- Uphold ethical and professional standards as outlined by ASHA and the Tennessee Department of Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current Tennessee SLP license (Board of Communication Disorders and Sciences)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA preferred; CFY considered
- Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and school-based service delivery
- Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills
- Experience working in a school setting is preferred, but not required
- Travel may be required between multiple school sites within the district
- Duties are performed in school classrooms, therapy rooms, and office settings
- Requires regular lifting of materials and equipment up to 25 lbs.
