Goodyear is looking for a detail-oriented and driven individual to join our Environmental Coordinator and help us steer our operations to success.Primary Purpose of the PositionThe Environmental Coordinator, with support from the Site Leadership Team and Enviromental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager, is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and monitoring of processes to ensure EHS compliance and reduce risk. This role provides expertise in applicable regulations and best practices in EHS management. The Enviromental Coordinator manages regulatory data, ensures accurate and timely reporting, and supports ISO 14001 certification through audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement. Additionally, the position tracks and reports on EHS key performance indicators (KPIs), builds EHS capabilities across the site, and partners with formal and informal leaders to drive EHS initiatives throughout the organization.Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain a deep level understanding of existing environmental permit requirements. Ensure required activities are performed and data is accurate/organized/maintained/reported (as required).
- Provide guidance in the areas of isolation/control of hazardous energy (i.e, lockout/tagout), electrical safety, machine guarding, ergonomics, industrial hygiene and hazard communication/chemical management (in addition to other safety media).
- Identify opportunities to enhance EHS compliance and reduce risk. Develop, implement and monitor action plans.
- Track, trend and report identified KPIs to site/corporate leadership.
- Inspect and audit EHS-related processes/equipment - Track, trend and report results.
- Bachelor's degree in environmental and/or Health and Safety or in lieu of a degree 5+ years of experience in the Environmental, Health and Safety field.
- Education or experience in Environmental Management.
- Experience implementing safety processes and programs.
- Experience tracking, trending and reporting environmental, health and safety related data.
- Experience influencing and selling ideas.
- 3+ years of experience in Environmental and/or Health and Safety.
- Master's degree in environmental and/or Health and Safety
- Strong knowledge of federal, state and local environmental, health and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal/written).
- Ability to effectively communicate at various levels of the organization.
- Excellent organization skills.
- Proficient in Excel.
