- Ability to troubleshoot issues with company vehicles/machinery/equipment.
- Ability to repair company vehicles/machinery/equipment.
- Ability to perform maintenance on company vehicles/machinery/equipment, which include oil changes, inspections, and other routine checks.
- Ability to read wiring and hydraulic schematics.
- Ability to use or learn to use diagnostic software.
- Maintain company tools, machinery, and equipment to ensure proper use.
- Ensure the practice of safety standards in accordance with company policies and OSHA.
- Operate a service truck when needed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

- Minimum of two years (2) experience working as a Mechanic in a shop environment - Preferred.
- Familiarity with heavy highway construction equipment/machinery - Preferred
- Experience with medium and heavy-duty truck repairs - Required.
- Mechanical aptitude - Required.

- May occasionally be required to use a computer with keyboard, telephone, or handheld mobile device for extended periods of time, and other equipment/machinery/vehicles as needed.
- Will frequently be exposed to risk of accident and/or unpleasant elements (e.g., extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, loud noises, heights, uneven work surfaces, and hazardous substances).
- Will occasionally be required to lift, push, pull, and carry heavy items and materials.
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, climb, bend, stoop, kneel, and crawl for extended periods or when needed.
- Ability to effectively communicate in, and understand, English.
- Required to utilize personal protective equipment (e.g., hard hat, safety glasses & boots) at appropriate times.
- 7:00AM - 5:30PM (Monday - Thursday) & 7:00AM - 3:30PM (Friday).
- May be required to work outside core operating hours as requested.
- High school diploma or equivalent - Preferred.
- Minimum of two years (2) experience working as a Mechanic in a shop environment - Preferred.
- Familiarity with heavy highway construction equipment/machinery - Required.
- Experience with medium and heavy-duty truck and equipment repairs - Preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude - Required.
- Be a minimum of 18 years of age.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screens & background check, including MVR.
- Must be in a union or be willing to join a union.
