Location: Troy, MI.Pay Rate: $19.75/hrShift: 6am-2:30pm (30-minute unpaid lunch)Job SummaryReceives and verifies incoming goods against packing slips/purchase orders. Prepares and ships finished products. Determines proper shipping methods and costs and prepares necessary documents for shipping goods. Operates forklift and other loading/stacking heavy equipment. Transports material to specified destinations. Routinely inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water, and maintains truck log. Follow Highway safety regulations.Key Responsibilities:
  • Unload delivery trucks using a forklift, pallet jack, or other warehouse equipment.
  • Drives truck to destination
  • Prepares and receives receipts for load pick-ups.
  • Receive delivered product(s) and label appropriately for easy retrieval.
  • Distribute packages and mail to company recipients.
  • Put away materials and components for storage and/or use.
  • Prepare orders for shipment per pick-ticket, using a scanner and forklift, ensuring accuracy of the shipment and associated shipping documents.
  • Operate and inspect material handling equipment and vehicles/trucks in a safe manner, completing daily, weekly, and monthly inspections with accuracy.
  • Review inbound shipments and verify items and quantities before taking delivery, signing Bill of Ladings and receiving documentation. Makes notation of discrepancies and alert Purchasing agent.
  • Assess and verify items from production and place them into the proper stock location.
  • Stock and restocking of items in their proper locations in the warehouses as needed.
  • Load and unload trucks as instructed.
  • Verify inventory counts and physical inventory as required.
  • Move materials in and out of work areas and the warehouse as required.
  • Alert management of out of stock or low stock levels as discovered. •
  • Identify and label boxes, packages, and products as instructed by the picking information, manager or lead.
  • Maintain work area in a cleaned and organized fashion at all times by implementing 5s practices where possible.
  • Report any inefficient or unsafe conditions to management upon discovery of the conditions.
  • Complete all paperwork accurately as instructed by your manager and lead-person.
  • Perform all work using safety equipment as instructed while obeying all safety-rules and procedures.
  • Occasionally assist other classifications in areas of the plant and warehouses as needed.
  • Fill out and turn into supervisor all paperwork and documents pertaining to shipping and receiving programs as required.
  • Perform any/all other duties as assigned.
Key Requirements
  • Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Education Preferred: Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of related experience required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Hi-lo license and, crane operator license.
  • Possess a valid Chauffeurs License with the ability to drive a company vehicle, and/or obtain a Commercial Driver’s License.
  • Ability to meet and obtain DOT medical requirements, as well as a good driving record and appropriate automobile insurance.
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office programs.
  • Prioritizes workload, performs duties as needed, and with a sense of urgency.
  • Maintains good communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
