Position Summary:Provides technical and operational support of simulation activities to the simulation team, physicians and allied health and nursing learning consultants. Assists with simulation accreditation maintenance through education and data collection. Responsibilities:Essential Functions:
 Collects and maintains clinical and educational simulation data for analysis and research.
 Demonstrates Information technology (IT)/software knowledge and terminology.
 Assists with simulation development, instruction, and debriefing.
 Demonstrates use of medical moulage for simulated medical conditions.
 Evaluates allocation and usage of resources to achieve goals and learning outcomes of supported customers.
 Communicates with vendors regarding maintenance, repairs, updates and technology changes.
 Assists with simulation lab scheduling, maintenance of simulation lab calendars, and reports scheduling conflicts to simulation program team.
 Assists in the planning and execution of all operational and technical aspects of simulated learning activities and simulation based education.
 Assists with renewal of Simulation Program Accreditation through Society for Simulation in Healthcare.
 Integrates new evidence-based practices within the accredited simulation program.
 Exhibits knowledge of current human patient simulators and simulation/audiovisual platforms, including, but not limited to, Laerdal, Gaumard, and CAE Healthcare.
 Assists with basic and advanced simulation educational courses offered by Simulation Program.
 Supports learners, Team Members, and clients in maintaining a physically and psychologically safe environment.
 Exhibits professionalism in collaboration with clinicians, Team Members, and clients.
 Prepares setup, materials, and equipment for teaching, research, or demonstrations for Simulation purposes.
 Assists teams with innovation and growth by documenting simulation scenarios.
 Promotes simulation throughout the organization through technical and operational support of simulators and
computer/audiovisual equipment for simulation learning.
 Maintains the simulation center by managing the audio-visual technology for de-briefing and recording of scenarios.
 Supports the daily operations of the simulation center, including technical support, daily logs, review inventory stock, place orders to maintain par levels, and maintains biohazard disposal, routine equipment maintenance, maintains log and condition of simulators for transportation.
 Conducts software upgrades, programming, installations, and maintains the simulation database and SharePoint site.
 Maintains the simulators including task trainers and phlebotomy arms by calibration, repairs, cleaning and reporting any failures or conflicts with scheduling of simulators.
 Prepares simulation set up and break down for specialty course scenarios and skills lab.
 Demonstrates safe use of equipment and regularly inspects equipment and materials for proper condition.
 Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
 Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
 Other duties as assigned. Qualifications:Education/Training
 Must have one of the following:
 Associate degree in healthcare, fire science or a related field
 Graduate of Paramedic program
 Two (2) years of clinical experience, simulation lab, or simulation technology (in addition to the experience
listed below).Licensure/Certification
 Maintains current Florida Class E Driver’s License and driving record (in compliance with Orlando Health Policy).
 Maintains current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification.
 Maintains current CHSOS and/or CHSE Certification from the Society for Simulation in Healthcare.
 Clinical, current, active State of Florida license in clinical specialty.Experience
 Three (3) years of experience in simulation operation/education/training, preferably with human patient simulator platforms and audiovisual equipment/operating software.
 Experience with Microsoft Office Software.
 Knowledge of medical terminology.
