My Treehouse Club is a children’s learning academy located in Kaka‘ako, Honolulu. We provide creative, movement-based, and educational programs designed to inspire children while building confidence, independence, and a love of learning.We are seeking a Part-Time Art Teacher who is not only a skilled educator and artist, but also understands the business side of running children’s programs. This role requires someone who can design lessons, events, and workshops that draw in new enrollment, retain current members, and contribute to overall revenue growth. Applicants must demonstrate both strong artistic ability and proven teaching skills appropriate for young children’s developmental milestones.Position Details
- Schedule:
- Mondays 2:30 PM – 6:30 PM
- Tuesdays 2:30 PM – 6:30 PM
- Additional paid hours available for lesson planning and preparation once qualified
- Starting Wage: $18–$25 per hour, depending on experience
- Probation Period: 1 month. Final probation task will be presenting a complete 1-month lesson plan. Wage will be confirmed after probation.

- Minimum 5 years’ experience teaching art to children ages 0–6 (grown-up & me, preschool art, or similar early childhood settings)
- High school diploma or higher required (Bachelor’s in Art, Fine Arts, or Early Childhood Education preferred)
- Proven ability to design original, age-appropriate art lessons that align with developmental milestones
- Ability to adapt projects for different age groups and clearly recognize what children can and cannot do at each stage
- Demonstrated artistic skill with ability to produce professional-quality project samples
- Strong classroom management and ability to keep children engaged in group settings
- Experience in training, mentoring, or supporting other teachers is highly desired
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team when an assistant is present
- Business-minded approach with understanding of budgets, enrollment goals, and revenue generation
- Ability to create programs, lessons, events, and workshops that attract new families and retain current members
- Excellent communication skills with children, parents, and staff
- Organized and detail-oriented, with ability to:
- Maintain accurate supply inventory
- Track materials within budget
- Keep studio clean and safe at all times
- FUN, energetic, patient, reliable, and professional
- References required (professional teaching references preferred)
- Background check required
- CPR/First Aid certification required after probation period (must obtain at own expense if not already certified)
- Lead structured, fun, and developmentally appropriate art classes for children ages 0–6
- Create and present high-quality project samples for each lesson
- Develop and submit detailed weekly lesson plans
- Prep, set up, and clean up all art activities and materials
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe studio environment at all times
- Monitor and manage supply inventory; reorder or communicate needs in advance
- Design lessons and programs that stay within budget
- Develop creative programs, workshops, and events that increase enrollment and support revenue growth
- Communicate effectively with parents and collaborate with other teachers and admin staff
- Develop themed art projects for private parties (themes may range from Paw Patrol to K-pop)
- Create themed crafts for Parents’ Night Out, events, workshops, and mobile programs
- Assist in designing craft projects for preschool craft classes
- Assist in creating craft projects for Japanese language classes
- Train, mentor, or provide guidance to assistants and other team members as needed
