This position supports the operations of science and nursing laboratories for multiple class sections of introductory biology, chemistry, and nursing on the Cattaraugus County Campus. Responsibilities include assisting the Laboratory Coordinator with set up and take down of labs, maintenance of laboratory equipment, monitoring inventory and ordering supplies, and usage of proper safety protocols in the lab environment.Qualifications:Required: Academic background in biology and/or chemistry laboratory courses with a minimum of an associate degree in biology, chemistry, laboratory technology, or related field. Able to operate basic laboratory equipment. Familiarity with Microsoft and Google software. Attention to detail and accuracy, initiative and ability to work independently and interdependently, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service is imperative.Preferred: BachelorТs degree (or higher) in biology, chemistry, laboratory technology or related field with at least 2 years experience in a lab setting OR an equivalent combination of training and experience sufficient to demonstrate ability to perform the job. Experience with aseptic technique, microbiology media preparation, and operation of autoclave.
