In this hands-on position, you’ll support faculty, students, and administrators by managing lab inventory, scheduling adjunct faculty, setting up equipment, and providing administrative and technical support.Apply today and help us provide exceptional hands-on learning experiences for our nursing students!JOB SUMMARY:Under direct supervision, this position prepares Nursing laboratories for student use. Manages inventory on all campuses. Assists the Dean of Nursing, program administrator or directors in scheduling adjunct faculty in the laboratory. Provides technical assistance to full-time Nursing faculty in the equipment. Assists in the preparation of the lab with the set-up of supplies, equipment, or materials, and facilitates communication within the Nursing; assists in notifying physical plant regarding, and/or contacts outside vendors for laboratory equipment repairs. Provides administrative support when needed for student inquiries, application assistance, and compliance.SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists the Dean of Nursing program administrator or directors in scheduling of laboratory times.
Assists in communication within the Division through the preparation of emails and telephone referrals. Attends Division and nursing faculty meetings to discuss laboratory schedules and the needs of the division.
Keeps a check on the inventory (by computer spreadsheet) and requisitions supplies as needed with the approval of the Division chairs.
Meets weekly with staff, faculty, and administrators at the main campus to discuss specific laboratory and equipment needs.
Maintains a calendar with laboratory activities and simulation schedules;
Documents the use of lab and data on student success and completion related to lab use and activities.
Works with Dean to contact adjuncts to schedule laboratory instruction.
Assists in student recruitment and retention activities. Sets up open laboratory times for student practice.
Sets up laboratory for college tours conducted by faculty, staff, and administration.
Maintains laboratories at all campuses in a clean, neat, organized condition conducive to learning.
Contact physical plant or vendors regarding equipment repairs.
Provides administrative support when needed for student inquiries, application assistance, and compliance.
Completes all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Associate of Arts or Science degree;
Minimum two (2) years proven experience with success in student recruitment, retention, and laboratory management.
proven skills and experience with Microsoft Office and Windows applications.
Ability to maintain strict accuracy and be detail-oriented.
Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
Ability to deal effectively and diplomatically with diverse populations, including students, faculty, staff, and supervisors/administrators.
Excellent organizational skills; ability to work independently as well as with others and be self-motivated;
Valid Florida driver’s license.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:This position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally over twenty-five (25) pounds. This position also requires the ability to lift heavy boxes and materials, to move equipment from room to room, and to work for extended periods at a computer station. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as copiers, faxes, telephones, and other equipment as necessary.
