Explore current career openings at SVP Worldwide locations around the world, right here and now.Job Overview:The VP, Corporate Controller will ensure the timely and accurate recording of Global accounting transactions and business activity, overseeing financial consolidations of domestic and multinational entities along with financial and management reporting requirements. The VP, Corporate Controller will safeguard the company's global assets by developing, implementing, and maintaining documented controls and procedures. The successful candidate will be adept at identifying opportunities for process improvement across all company operations. Overall, the VP, Corporate Controller will oversee the enterprise's accounting, reporting and control environments.Job Responsibilities:
  • Controllership:
  • Oversee Corporate Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Manufacturing Inventory while supporting Treasury Management functions through oversight of borrowing base certification and monthly compliance reporting.
  • Ensure the development and successful implementation of accounting and control policies and procedures, as well as documentation, maintenance, and appropriate allocation of resources across the entire enterprise and for financial review.
  • Assess productivity of existing resources and shared service functions while identifying opportunities to enhance value, accuracy, and speed of reporting.
  • Provide leadership around existing ERP and support accounting and financial control systems, including developing opportunities for improved automation and a best-in-class systems-based controls environment.
  • Support Treasury in monitoring, managing, and maintaining daily and weekly cashflow (approvals of wires and outgoing payments) as well as projections both regionally and internationally, as well as managing banking relationships.
  • Lead the accounting, controls and financial reporting of multinational businesses.
  • Coordinate the month-end closing process, including income, liquidity, and capital projections.
  • Ensure completion of daily transactions including general accounting, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, royalty reporting, inventory control, and sale audit function.
  • Manage accounts payable process, track expenses, conduct variance analysis, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure a strong internal control environment and integrity of the general ledger.
  • Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the company's value.
  • Reporting:
  • Ensure timely and accurate closing of monthly, quarterly, and annual management reporting in accordance with US GAAP. Work with multinational finance on statutory reporting requirements.
  • Oversee accurate and efficient delivery of income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements by the overall team and handle audited financial statement prep/footnotes and EBITDA management.
  • Coordinate the periodic consolidation and global financial close efforts and ensure proper elimination of intercompany activities.
  • Along with the Head of FP&A, lead the preparation of monthly reporting packages to the Operations Council/Board.
  • Communicate with Executive Management on the status of operational and control frameworks across the organization.
  • Assist with technical accounting implications of transactions, including review of lease language and partnership agreements.
  • Compliance:
  • Manage and lead the external audit process, working closely with external audit partners.
  • Ensure technical accounting compliance across the organization and adoption of all required accounting standards and updates.
  • Ensure appropriate and timely filing of all lender reporting, including lender compliance certificates and related materials, and monitor and maintain compliance with any debt covenants.
  • Work alongside the VP Tax to ensure all Federal, State, and Local tax filings are completed and submitted timely and accurately.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Lead the development, management and improvement of operational and financial controls and procedures.
  • Evaluate and implement financial transactions, shared service, and reporting process improvements globally.
  • Implement SAP in Vietnam Manufacturing facility and manage existing ERPs and integrated applications to improve business efficiencies and the Control environment.
  • People:
  • Lead the accounting team and be a strategic thought partner to the CFO and executive team advising and influencing business decisions and growth initiatives across the enterprise.
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and talent management of a global team to drive engagement, effective delivery, and associate development.
  • Train, mentor and develop team members ensuring succession and development plans are in place
  • Provide professional development opportunities for staff and lead financial presentations as needed.
  • In addition to the Chief Financial Officer and the Executive Leadership team, this position will regularly interact with various leaders across the Company, including the Head of FP&A, Region Finance leaders, plant controllers, and lender groups. There will be interface with key leaders within Platinum Equity. Given the work and wide range of stakeholders involved, the Controller must also be able to work independently and collaborate productively with a broad range of individuals.

Qualifications:
  • 15 years or more of experience in accounting and controllership, ideally within a Global business within retail, manufacturing or Omni channel environments and/or backed by private equity
  • Previous experience working in public accounting (Big-4) is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field related, with a preference towards a master’s degree
  • CPA required
  • Demonstrated ability to implement a robust accounting, business processes, and financial management controls environment
  • Strong critical thinking and business acumen
  • Strong judgment, problem-solving, and analytical skills, including well-developed understanding of financial statements, are a necessity
  • Effective influencing skills and the ability to work cross-functionally at all levels of the organization and to manage and prioritize multiple tasks on very tight deadlines
  • Strong project management, strategic communications
  • Proven experience working in a fast paced, evolving environment with strong adaptability and change management skills
  • Global Process improvement experience, streamlining global business processes, preferably while creating international shared services.
  • ERP implementation or consolidation preferred
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, including confidence and presence to engage effectively with senior executives
