The Manufacturing Engineering Technician will create and implement plans for new and existing product lines, related to electrical wiring/connectors/harnesses.
Will work closely with several different departments such as Engineering, Customer Services, Continuous Improvement, Quality, Sales, and Production.
Job Duties:
Schedule kick-off meeting for new product implementation.
Coordinate with production to determine personnel needs for new product start-ups and work cell development.
Organize new product launch based on customer requirements.
Confirm that WI or DAI Instructions are complete before the product is released to production.
Verify tooling and assembly fixtures are completed and certified before product is released to production.
Measure and report actual production times vs. quoted production times.
Manage new product launches and ensure all internal documents are completed as required.
Evaluate existing production assemblies being produced inefficiently based on feedback from the production floor, time studies and/or system-based reports.
Coordinate production transfers from US facility to Mexico facility including material, tooling and fixture transfers to prevent abandoned resources.
Design fixture and program (testing) solutions to production.
Report any safety hazard and incident immediately to the appropriate department and first responder team if necessary.
Consider and implement any safety precaution necessary within each assigned project.
Requirements:
Associates degree in Engineering, OR someone with an understanding of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, as well as ability to read Blueprints
Strong computer skills with Excel and other office programs
Strong communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Preferred:
Soldering experience, or experience building mechanical or electrical equipment in a manufacturing environment
