Manufacturing Engineering TechnicianPay Rate:
  • $22/hr
Summary:
  • The Manufacturing Engineering Technician will create and implement plans for new and existing product lines, related to electrical wiring/connectors/harnesses.
  • Will work closely with several different departments such as Engineering, Customer Services, Continuous Improvement, Quality, Sales, and Production.
Job Duties:
  • Schedule kick-off meeting for new product implementation.
  • Coordinate with production to determine personnel needs for new product start-ups and work cell development.
  • Organize new product launch based on customer requirements.
  • Confirm that WI or DAI Instructions are complete before the product is released to production.
  • Verify tooling and assembly fixtures are completed and certified before product is released to production.
  • Measure and report actual production times vs. quoted production times.
  • Manage new product launches and ensure all internal documents are completed as required.
  • Evaluate existing production assemblies being produced inefficiently based on feedback from the production floor, time studies and/or system-based reports.
  • Coordinate production transfers from US facility to Mexico facility including material, tooling and fixture transfers to prevent abandoned resources.
  • Design fixture and program (testing) solutions to production.
  • Report any safety hazard and incident immediately to the appropriate department and first responder team if necessary.
  • Consider and implement any safety precaution necessary within each assigned project.
Requirements:
  • Associate’s degree in Engineering, OR someone with an understanding of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, as well as ability to read Blueprints
  • Strong computer skills with Excel and other office programs
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
Preferred:
  • Soldering experience, or experience building mechanical or electrical equipment in a manufacturing environment
