Headquartered in Cincinnati, we service our clients through our regional service centers which include Columbus and Louisville.Position OverviewReporting to the President, the Corporate Rental & Renewed Manager is responsible for aggressively driving the continued growth and profitability of RSCI’s Rental and Renewed / Used assets. This will include management of fleet equipment inventory, determining sources and methods of procurement of equipment, and managing rental fleet maintenance, aging and turns. Success in this role will require effectively developing key relationships within the dealer and wholesaler markets, and creating a used equipment marketing program. The Corporate Rental & Renewed Manager will also provide leadership and direction for direct report Used and Rental associates as well as collaboration and support for individuals and departments throughout the organization.Job Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
  • Manages and evaluates lift truck acquisitions, including rental units, customer trade-in, wholesale and scrap disposition, end-of-lease, as well as Renewed / used equipment purchase and inventory.
  • Supervises all rental and used equipment requests including associated acquisitions, pricing, pipeline, and scheduling with rental and renewed technicians. Develops systems and structure to maximize profitability and reduce cost.
  • Works with appropriate internal and external parties to develop an effective used equipment marketing program.
  • Develops systems for efficient communication and work flow and collaborates with shop technicians, facility operations, field service, accounting and finance, rental and sales support personnel.
  • Oversees Rental fleet maintenance, aging and turns. This involves the following:
  • Monitoring fleet assets and equipment utilization and planning replacements and additions.
  • Ensuring consistent asset format and arrangement within internal systems for maintenance tracking, reporting, and cost analysis.
  • Developing and managing a plan for truck transition from rental to used.
  • Establishing guidelines for the retirement of trucks and batteries.
  • Locating, naming, organizing, and labeling equipment, and developing procedures for warehouse management and entering / disposing assets into and from inventory.
  • Oversees Usage fleet, including equipment turns, fleet refresh and maintenance.
  • Provides leadership and direction to shop operations team for equipment preparation and refurbishment including:
  • Direct supervision of Shop Operations Manager and the on-site shop technician team to drive product quality, productivity, and process efficiency with focus on individual and team development and onboarding.
  • Application and implementation of Raymond Lean Management, ASEC, and continuous improvement initiatives in warehouse, shop bays, and operational support areas of organization.
  • Oversees Transportation Coordinator and Warehouse Inventory personnel to provide logistics for rental, used, and shop operations team.
  • Effectively communicates with rental and used customers as appropriate to ensure solutions are provided to satisfy their needs.
  • Develops and utilizes solid understanding of equipment specifications and applications to make sound decisions and recommendations.
  • Works closely with the Sales group to identify new rental and used customers and opportunities, as well as market utilization trends.
  • Explores the potential value of new product and revenue opportunities, such as battery rebuilding, aerial equipment, robots / autonomous vehicles, and other industrial equipment.
  • Ensures accurate and timely maintenance of asset registry.
  • Stays educated and informed on current industry/market trends, changes and advances that may impact pricing, strategy, etc.
  • Provides leadership and direction for branch Rental and Used Managers to maximize capabilities and efficiencies for the department.
  • Prioritizes development of departmental team members to promote continuous improvement within the framework of the Purpose 27 principles.
  • Promotes departmental support for and cooperation with Sales reps, Operations and Field Service, and all management, so objectives are met and customer experience is optimized.
  • Works with President to ensure market-level strategic and business objectives for Used, Renewed and Rental are effectively planned and achieved.
  • Meets and promotes all requirements and expectations as defined in the company handbook, Code of Conduct and Purpose 27 principles.
Desired Skills, Experience & Qualifications
  • Regular travel within territory required
  • BA/BS in Business, Sales & Marketing, or related field preferred. MBA a plus
  • Four (4) plus years of successful fleet and/or sales management experience in material handling or industrial equipment industry preferred
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Basic technical knowledge of industrial equipment
  • Proven ability to solve problems and develop solutions while maintaining positive outlook
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent customer service skillset and approach
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be assertive, competitive and goal-oriented
  • Must be analytical and have strong attention to detail
