  • Oversees various aspects, including claims management, of a complex and growing insurance portfolio, which includes, but is not limited to, the following programs: Professional Liability/Medical Malpractice, General Liability, Auto, Aviation, Crime, Cyber, D&O, Environmental, Fiduciary, Property, Umbrella/Excess (including administration of a Captive Insurance Company and Self-Insured Trusts) and Worker’s Compensation.
  • Designs and implements processes that identify risk exposure and classify, measure, and manage insurable risks. Provides risk finance expertise and creates insurance solutions to operational and strategic initiatives of the organization.
  • Accountable for insurance and risk finance due diligence reviews for mergers & acquisitions and divestitures of the organization, as well as accountable for the timely and effective program implementation and integration of such acquisitions.
  • Develops and completes full budget assumptions, in collaboration with the actuary, as needed, for all programs to effectively manage insurance costs and expenses for the organization. Advises system and ministry finance leaders of allocations needed to fund the insurance programs.
  • Maintains a high level of knowledge, authority, and independence to serve as an enterprise and insurance risk subject matter expert and resource for the organization and senior management team. Responsible for keeping up to date on various risk response activities and compiling useful data and information about enterprise risks into substantial, valuable reports to senior leaders and appropriate board committees to inform strategic objectives and initiatives.
  • Develops and leads the implementation of a risk management program that results in the identification, prioritization, and reduction of business-related risks. Advises and develops, as needed, risk management criteria including threats, vulnerabilities, likelihood, and impact. Conducts enterprise risk assessments to evaluate potential risk impacts. Defines organizational risk mitigation and remediation planning and activities.
  • Manages the development and implementation of new and improved risk reporting tools to track key metrics, risk appetite thresholds, enterprise issues, and other relevant information on key business risks. Identifies metrics and actionable risk reporting appropriate for system and regional leaders. Develops and implements databases, data collection systems, data
  • analytics and other strategies that optimize risk identification, analysis, response, and monitoring.
  • Oversees the management, administration, and strategy of the Riskonnect (RMIS) application. Provides direct oversight, leadership, and management to the RMIS staff and ensures excellent customer service to the organization for all application functions.
  • Works effectively as a team member in a dynamic environment and promotes teamwork within and across the organization by maintaining positive relationships and utilizing effective problem-solving skills. Manages activities related to staffing, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.

  • Bachelor’s degree
