- The Data Engineer plays an essential role in the design, development, and support/maintenance of all the Azure components, Fabric analytics, Databricks ETL pipelines and analytics, and their related operational applications
- Design and implement database models and architectures for both OLTP and data analytics purposes
- Design and develop robust data integration frameworks for moving and transforming varied data sets between Red Robin, 3rd party applications, and external partners
- Design, develop, and consume API interfaces for managing the flow of complex data across platforms within Red Robin and with our external partners
- Design and develop modern responsive and reactive user interfaces, reports, and dashboards for end-user data management, process tracking and execution, and system health monitoring
- Provide cross-functional support to the Red Robin Data Team for all databases, applications, and analytical reports on Azure and Fabric
- Develop and publish technical design specifications and documentation for assigned development projects
- Data architecture and modeling for OLTP and data warehouse environments
- Advanced ETL development with Databricks and Python
- Advanced SQL development on MS SQL Server
- API development and consumption
- Modern responsive and reactive user interfaces
- Data analytics frameworks
- Azure platform development
- 5 - 8 years of SQL database development required
- Experience developing large databases with custom database applications required
- Experience with ETL frameworks and tools required
- Experience with both REST and XML API services required
- Experience developing Angular or .NET Core user interfaces, reports, and dashboards required
- Advanced level experience with Python, Java, or C# required
- Experience with Databricks highly desired
- Experience with data analytics desired
- Experience on the Azure platform desired
- Experience with Fabric and Power BI desired
- Ability to quickly understand complicated systems
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
- Comfortable communicating in a team environment and able to communicate effectively with all levels from users to management
- Excellent written communications skills for writing technical specifications involving architecture, database design, and ETL workflow
