- Prepare, invoice, distribute, and file service work orders, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
- Maintain fiscal records and reporting related to service work, tracking costs and expenditures.
- Manage subcontractor mechanics in support of service work, including scheduling and performance oversight.
- Coordinate and quote repair and refurbishment projects, working closely with service technicians, customers, and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate data on parts and quotes; ensure timely communication and updates to service technicians and external customers.
- Oversee parts accountability and sales related to service work orders, including resolution of parts-related questions and shipment tracking.
- Act as a liaison between the service team and the parts provisioning group, supporting efficient parts planning and delivery.
- Provide input to Inventory Managers regarding service parts needs to support availability and readiness.
- Deliver technical support to McNeilus Aftermarket personnel, engineers, subcontractors, and customers, especially related to Volterra® RCV systems and components.
- Support Parts Coordinators with technical inquiries and troubleshooting for Volterra® vehicles.
- Understand and interpret engineering bills of materials, technical drawings, and change notices to ensure data accuracy and support service planning.
- Prepare general service documentation including service reports, paperwork, and participation in CN review board meetings as needed.
- Obtain complex part data and technical information from internal sources (engineering, purchasing) and external vendors for accurate database updates.
- Load, develop, and maintain data in internal databases, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and proper formatting of raw data.
- Maintain high accuracy rates in numeric data entry and data handling under tight deadlines.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to cross-functional projects to optimize service processes and support growth.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with internal teams, customers, and subcontractors to ensure alignment and issue resolution.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of McNeilus Aftermarket service operations.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (equivalent to six (6) years total); or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the role.
- Automotive or mechanical background
- The ability to work overtime
- To be on call for service questions or needs from our west coast customers
- Have database software knowledge (ie: Excel, Access, PowerLOG-J)
- Numeric data entry experience
