Responsibilities include defining strategies and roadmaps, collaborating with peer teams, identification of solutions, researching functionality, contract negotiations, purchasing, implementation and deployment of technology projects. Provides oversight and directly manages the functional areas of Engineering, Infrastructure Operations, Desktop Level 2 Support, Network Recovery Plan, IT Service Delivery, vendor resources and Technology compliance controls. This person must provide strong leadership and direction, excel at multi-tasking and have the ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic, high-tech environmentESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Drive the development of short / long term strategies and roadmaps to support the Bank’s strategic plan. This includes the technology strategy on cloud computing, Sharepoint Online, Network Modernization, Virtual Workspaces (VDI), M365 Administration, etc.
Effectively partners with several organizations throughout the bank to collaborate on solutions while keeping the Bank safe and secure.
Leads the CTO organization in team collaboration, technology evolution and operational excellence.
Lead a team of Managers across various disciplines, as well as manage workloads, development, training.
Recommends solutions and/or alternatives for IT infrastructure architecture in order to ensure business sustainability and supports the next generation technologies including AI and Automation
Negotiate the purchase of new technologies and support renewal contracts with technology vendors (Microsoft and Cisco as an example)
Explores requirements with internal IT team to determine and recommend the most suitable IT infrastructure solutions
Leads the execution of technology plans in order to ensure deployment efforts are aligned with the agreed solution
Identifies area for improvement, develops improvement program and monitors the implementation to increase process and capacity efficiency
Develops and maintains the department budget to ensure expenditure is in line with the business plan
Develops and implements security standards, processes and procedures, documentation and guidelines for the enterprise
Works with project and business unit management to direct all aspects of technical environment
Keeps abreast of technological trends in the field and pursues and applies updated developments as appropriate
Provides effective training and guidance to all areas of staff to grow the technical skills in their space
Exercises effective management and supervisory skills in the areas of performance management, career development, and related personnel matters.
Minimum knowledge/skills:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems preferred or equivalent work experience.
12+ years of increasing responsibility experience in Information Technology with 8+ years of leadership experience
Minimum of 10 years’ experience supporting a multi-vendor network operating system environment and managing medium to large networks on a day to day basis
Broad experience with Infrastructure and security technologies, Networking, Storage, Systems, VOIP, firewalls, VPN, Windows OS, Identity Management, EndPoint protection, MS Azure Cloud technologies, etc
Understanding of ITIL and ITSM processes and implementation. ITIL certification a plus.
Ability to work independently and to solve problems quickly and completely. Strong troubleshooting skills
