- Administer and interpret collective bargaining agreements and serve as the primary HR contact for union-related matters.
- Partner with labor union representatives to address grievances, negotiate terms, and support labor-management initiatives.
- Advise managers and supervisors on HR policies, union contract provisions, and disciplinary procedures.
- Schedule and maintain status of all training for each employee to ensure no training gaps for recurring and new training.
- Support and participate in labor negotiations and contract administration.
- Conduct investigations related to employee relations issues, including those involving bargaining unit employees.
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational goals and union workforce needs.
- Ensure legal and contractual compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (e.g. FMLA, FLSA, EEO, NLRA).
- Lead or assist with talent acquisition, onboarding, training, and development programs.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HRIS data.
- Collaborate with payroll and benefits teams to ensure accurate processing for all employees, including those under union contracts.
- Monitor workplace culture and morale, identifying opportunities for improvement in engagement and communication.
- Prepare reports and metrics on HR activities, grievances, disciplinary actions, and workforce trends.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in a unionized environment.
- Strong understanding of labor law and experience administering collective bargaining agreements.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong organizational and conflict-resolution skills.
- Proficient in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite.
- PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
- Office environment with regular interaction on the shop floor or operational areas.
- May require occasional travel or extended hours to support labor negotiations or investigations.
