- Models Elbit Systems of America’s core values, providing mentorship and technical leadership to the Engineering team.
- Performs workforce planning and resource allocation in coordination with Engineering Functional Leadership, Business Unit Leads, Program Management, Finance and Human Resources.
- Provides technical leadership to the Business Units with respect to strategy, capture, development, and sustaining needs.
- Provides the Business Development team with customer support in technical exchanges.
- Leads the team to generate concepts and white papers in support of the Product Line Directors and Business Development team as required for new products and systems.
- Oversees the generation of technical documentation as required for responses to Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Proposal (RFP).
- Provides technical guidance to Program Managers in support of development projects.
- Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with other ESL and ESA Business Units.
- Leads the ESA technology experts within the Soldier Electro-Optics and Targeting domain, with team being expected to help resolve programs technical or execution issues.
- Remains at the forefront of emerging technologies which could help improve engineering capabilities and product offerings.
- Fully understands internal project engineering and systems engineering procedures and mentors engineering teams with a keen focus on DTUPC and NPI.
- Participates in Business Unit strategic planning activities.
- Generates Technology Roadmaps that supports the development of associated product lines.
- Participates in Product Line strategy formation and program capture.
- May be assigned as the Technical Lead for complex, highly technical projects across the enterprise.
- Evaluates vendor capabilities to provide highly complex products or services to ESA assuring the highest quality and being within specifications stated.
- Ensures lessons learned are identified and incorporated into the standards process.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or other relevant discipline and 15 years of experience, with a strong background in embedded system development
- Demonstrated ability to lead team of teams to drive engineering excellence and execution
- Ability to provide leadership to 3-5 direct Staff Level or above Engineering Leaders
- Ability to team with BD and BU constituents to develop strategy and collaborate on Capture, Development, Transition to Production, and Sustaining
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as the Technical Lead for complex projects.
- Ability to team with vendors on the highest complex technical specifications.
- Either has or the ability to qualify for a Secret Security Clearance
- Experience leading & managing projects in an Agile environment using JIRA is desired
- History of product development with the help of Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) tools is preferred.
