Provides credentialing support services to the Medical Staff Office and Finance by assisting with maintenance of the automated credentialing and privileging system, preparation of application packets, requests for references, verifications of hospital affiliations and online data queries for select Medical Staff categories. This individual will be the lead in the MD Staff Credentialing Program, and be expected to collaborate with Patient Accounts Manager to expedite payer credentialing and will maintain CAQH Proview provider information.Supports Medical Staff Services by providing information management, administrative office management and guidance to medical staff members and leaders. Aids the Chief Medical Officer by providing information, support, and administrative office management.Responsible for meeting management, flow of information from medical staff committees through the Medical Executive Committee and the Governing Board. Assists with the Medical Staff/ Leadership functions, including the provision of support to the administrative and clerical/secretarial support services to the Director of Medical Staff Services, Department/Division/Committee Chairs, Chief Medical Officer, and President of the Medical Staff by, preparing reports and correspondence, scheduling meetings, maintaining files and conducting special projects as assigned.
High School diploma or GED required
Previous Medical Staff Office Experience is preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required
Ability and experience with performing internet searches and database management required
Knowledge/experience with credentialing software or willingness/ability to learn a system
Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred
Knowledge of filing and office systems
Ability to communicate and work effectively in a collaborative manner and with all levels of the organization including physicians
Ability to work independently and be a self-starter
Knowledge of and ability to demonstrate proper English, spelling, and grammar
Willingness to read, learn and understand the bylaws of the organization
Must have a great focus for detail
Must have good technical skills with database entry
