- Leads the preparation and review of the annual budget, periodic forecasts, and operating plans.
- Oversees and manages the monthly close the books process and ensures accuracy and timely completion.
- Reviews and approves assigned journal entries and account reconciliations and substantiations.
- Completes the assessment of monthly financial performance, including root cause analysis and highlighting performance improvement areas to the operations team.
- Lead the finance function in the integration of new manufacturing operations at the Kinston facility
- Performs profitability assessments on product lines, customers, capital investments, and other business decisions.
- Performs financial modeling and trend and sensitivity analyses.
- Oversees the maintenance and accuracy of standard costing.
- Prepares and coordinates capital expenditure requests as well as participates in long term capital planning.
- Supports physical inventory and other asset control.
- Utilizes detailed knowledge of accounting systems such as Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud Services/Smart View, Insight, Friedman, and Qlikview/Qlik Sense).
- Maintains financial integrity by following established knowledge through appropriate training and education.
- Hires, trains, and retains skilled staff through career development and mentoring.
- Develops in-depth knowledge of all MasterBrand strategic business units. Leverages ideas from other reviews and co-workers to provide value-added recommendations and best practices to others.
- Demonstrates teamwork by responsively collaborating with the Finance management and staff, sharing information and ideas, proactively seeking, and accepting constructive feedback.
- Consistently demonstrates the MasterBrand Way, positioning the company for growth and helping identify opportunities to reduce waste, complexity, and improve our work environment.
- Participates in company efforts related to ethics and compliance activities.
- Performs other duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
- An undergraduate degree in Accounting (Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, or equivalent also to be considered).
- Certified Public Accountant (or Chartered Accountant equivalent), Certified Management Accountant, and/or Master of Business Administration preferred.
- 5-10 years of accounting experience - with manufacturing experience preferred.
- Understand of and experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and/or International financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Sarbanes Oxley, cost accounting and accounting acumen.
- Progressive financial experience leading diverse teams at multiple locations within a manufacturing organization.
- Demonstrated ability to develop an efficient and engaged finance team and to manage multiple priorities and team members in an efficient and effective manner.

- Excellent analytical, communication (oral and written), and interpersonal skills required.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook). Intermediate or advanced Excel skills required.
- Knowledge and experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) and/or Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems such as Oracle and Friedman.
- Ability to travel 5-10% annually (domestic).
